Every listing is compiled by hand and checked against the company's own website. 450 vendors across 48 categories. Vendors appear in every category they serve, so category counts sum to more than the vendor total. ## How the data is verified Listings are compiled by hand, then each vendor's website is fetched and checked. Every vendor carries a `check_status`: - `confirmed` — the site loaded and the page names the company. - `blocked` — the site refused an automated request (HTTP 401/403/429/503). This says nothing bad about the listing; large corporate sites routinely refuse crawlers. - `unreachable` — the site timed out or failed to resolve when last checked. - `name_mismatch` — the site loaded but does not appear to name this company. Treat these as needing review. Fields that would require inference (founding year, headcount) are deliberately left null rather than guessed.
